About UsThe Conure Community is a non-profit website dedicated to the love of conures. It was designed to be a place where new and experienced conure owners could share their experience and learn from each other in a relaxed, friendly, and non-judgmental setting. The site is the brainchild of Heather Moore, who was chosen by a Jenday conure, Chili Pepper, in November 1996. It is operated and funded by Heather and her husband, James Lucier. James and Heather share their lives with eight parrots, including three conures: Chili Pepper the Jenday, Freddie the green-cheeked, and Phoebe the painted. You can read about their feathered family at their Flashywings website. Please enjoy the site and have fun. No rules are posted because we expect people to be civil and courteous, even if they disagree. We ask only that people keep their love of conures foremost in their minds when engaging in discussions on the message board and avoid bringing politics and personal grudges into the mix. We reserve the right to remove any postings from the forum that we deem inappropriate. These include those using profanity, abusive language, spam, or for promoting a business. Please note that any photos you post on the message board may end up in the website photo albums, so we can share them with future visitors. Your photo will be published with a caption attributing the photo's ownership to you and it will not be used for any commercial undertaking. If you would rather not have your photo published on the website, please note this when you post the message containing your photo on the board. Also, be aware that your message may be added to our monthly newsletter, which is published on the website and distributed to our newsletter subscription list. If you object to having your information added to our newsletter, make note of this when you post your message. There is no required sign up procedure to participate on the message board but we encourage you to enter your information on our Members page to help others get to know you and your flock. Contact UsWe'd love to hear from you with your comments and suggestions on how to improve the site. You can send any comments you have to the Conure Community. Any questions about conures or parrots should be posted on our message board. Thanks for stopping by! |
