The Story of Sunshine

By Charmaine Trumper

We came upon our Jenday one day while working in the garden when she flew onto my husband's head.  We put out posters and ads and no one ever claimed her. So we named her Sunshine.

She is the most affectionate bird you could imagine. She loves to cuddle and be held.  We have an outdoor aviary with cockatiels, parakeets, and  a lovebird.  She was abusive to the cockatiels , so we had to take her out of there.  So now she has her own cage.

She is a screamer at times, especially when she wants out of her cage.  We have an indoor perch for her but she just always wants to be on your shoulder. She has also learned to imitate the phone ringing.   But I have no idea how old she is or where she came from.

We've had her now for almost a year.  She and my Yorkie Terrier do not get along and this has been the most frustrating, when they both want your attention.  So we've had to give them each their separate time.  Sunshine has definitely made things interesting around the house.
